Borussia Dortmund have expressed interest in struggling Arsenal centre back Per Mertesacker. The giant German has recently been dropped from the Gunners' first team.
Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is known to be a huge fan of Mertesacker and is ready to pay as much as 9 million euros to secure the player's signing. With veteran Sebastian Kehl likely to retire at the end of the current campaign, the Bundesliga side are contemplating bringing in further experience in Mertesacker as a replacement. The Gunners have played new signing Gabriel in recent games, with the Brazilian defender partnering Laurent Koscelny at the back.
