The Italy international joined the Westfalenstadion outfit last summer, but has since failed to prove his credential infront of goal.

The 25-year-old was thought to be high on the radar of the Reds in recent weeks, but TalkSPORT claims that the Rossoneri are now front-runners to sign the former Torino star for a fee in the region of £13m during the summer transfer window.

Immobile is believed to have put his home in Germany up for sale.
