The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to be keen on signing a new shot-stopper this summer, in order to provide stiff competition to Simon Mignolet for the number one spot.

Portuguese source O Jogo claims that the Merseysiders are in talks with Sporting regarding a possible move for Rui Patricio at the end of the season.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the league standings, seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.
