The talented Argentine was considered as the perfect fit to replace Diego Costa last summer, until the Basque outfit opted to go for Mario Mandzukic.
Marca claims that Mandzukic, who has notched up 20 goals in all competitions for Atleti, could find himself out of Vicente Calderon in the summer, due to his ongoing personal problems with manager Diego Simeone.
It is added that Simeone will try to make a move for the former Los Blancos striker when the transfer window reopens on July 1.
