The Reds have failed to find a suitable replacement for Luis Suarez this season, with summer signings in Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing to score goals on a regular basis.

It is now understood that the club will look to sign up a new striker in the summer, with Balotelli and Lambert likely to be shown the exit door.

According to The Mirror, the Reds will bid a fee of around £12m to sign up Montenegrin international Stevan Jovetic, who has had a disastrous two seasons at the former Premier League champions.
