However, he failed to make the most of the opportunity, and spent most of the back-end of the campaign in the substitutes' bench.

According to The Guardian, the Reds are determined to see the end of Balotelli at the club this summer.

Italian side Sampdoria look favourites to sign up the former Manchester City star.
