Manchester United are unlikely to make a move for German international Ilkay Gundogan this summer.
The talented midfielder has been constantly linked with a switch away from BVB, who had a disastrous spell in the Bundesliga last term.
However, United have now cooled down their interest in the former Real Madrid graduate, following the player's desire to remain with the Dortmund outfit.
United will now have to look elsewhere for a summer recruits, with manager Louis van Gaal keen on competing for the league title next season.
