Juve chasing Amauri

Juve chasing Amauri

30 December 2007 - 00:43

Juventus are hoping to clinch the signature of Palermo's Brazilian striker Amauri in the January transfer window. To add a twist to the rumour, Amauri's agent himself is insisting that Juve would prefer to sign his player rather than Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who many believe is set to join Juventus.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • “Claudio Ranieri’s dream attacking duo from July onwards would consist of David Trezeguet and Amauri,” the Dutchman’s agent in Italy, Vincenzo Morabito, was quoted as saying during the Radio Radio TV show. “Juventus think Klaas-Jan is good enough for them, but if they were to cash out the same amount of money for either of them they’d go for Amauri, as he’s already familiar with Italian football.”

Amauri is valued at around £12 million but Huntelaar may be available for £9 million, so although Huntelaar is a cheaper option; Amauri appears to be the more valuable due to his experience in Serie A.
