The Spain international was linked with a move to Atleti last summer, having had a below par 2013-14 season.

However, he rubbished the transfer claims, and has since then been a key member of the Gunners\' first-team.

According to The Express, Atleti will look to step up their interest in the Spain international, with Arda Turan tipped to leave the Basque outfit during the summer transfer window.
