Crystal Palace want to make Charlie Austin their highest paid player and will smash their transfer record yet again to sign the forward. The Eagles are weighing up a 14 million bid for Austin.
The striker - relegated to the Championship with QPR last season - wants a swift return to the Premier League and is rumoured to have already rejected an approach from Newcastle United. Austin wants to play for the Eagles' manager Alan Pardew and is rumoured to have told his agent to do everything possible to push through a transfer. Palace broke their transfer record this week to sign Yohan Cabaye.
