Manchester United have official announced the arrival of defender Matteo Darmian from Torino for a reported fee of £12.9m.

United boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed that the 25-year-old right-back has made his move to Old Trafford on a four-year deal following a successful medical.

The Italian international is expected to fly to the United States, and link up with Louis van Gaal's side for the pre-season tour.

Darmian is United's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of PSV Eindhoven's Memphis Depay.
