Manchester United are in talks to sign up free agent Sergio Romero during the summer transfer window.

The talented goalkeeper is a free agent following his release from Sampdoria earlier this summer.

According to Sky Italia, United boss Louis van Gaal is keen on signing an new back-up for David de Gea, with Victor Valdes expected to leave Old Trafford for a return to La Liga in the coming weeks.

28-year-old Romero has proved his credentials with the Argentina national side, and could turn to play as a good understudy to De Gea for the upcoming season.
