Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep hold of defender Nacho Monreal amidst interest from Athletic Bilbao.
The Spain international cemented his place in the starting line-up in the second half of last season.
However, recent reports have claimed that the former Malaga star could be sold in the summer, should he fail to agree to a contract extension at the Emirates.
According to The Mirror, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger does not want to sell the talented left-back, as it would disrupt the squad co-ordination for the new season.
Monreal's current deal at Arsenal expires in June 2016.
