Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren has reportedly placed West Ham United defender James Tomkins as one of his top targets for the summer.
The talented centre-back has spent his entire career at the Hammers, and only signed a five-year contract at Boleyn Road last season.
However, there have been doubts over the player's future at the East London outfit, following the signing of Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus.
According to The People, McClaren will look to sign up the talented central defender, as he seeks to bolster the backline before the start of the new season.
