Arsenal have reportedly had a £31.3m bid rebuffed for Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had recently insisted that the club were not in talks to sign up the France international.

However, The Express reports that the Gunners had made a formal bid of around £31.3m for the talented marksman, which was swiftly rejected by Los Blancos.

It is added that Benzema is keen on a move to the Premier League this summer, as he has doubts over his spot in the starting line-up next season.

Real currently rate Benzema at around £40m.
