Man Utd sign Sergio Romero

Man Utd sign Sergio Romero

27 July 2015 - 03:18

Manchester United have completed the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a free transfer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The 28-year-old was a free-agent having opted against a contract extension at Sampdoria earlier this summer.

It has now been confirmed that the talented shot-stopper has joined the Red Devils on a three-year contract, and his arrival is likely to end Victor Valdes' career in an United shirt.

Valdes has been allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Louis van Gaal unhappy with the player's refusal to play for the second string side.

Romero becomes United's fifth signing of the summer, having already brought in the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian, and Memphis Depay.
