Real Madrid's newly appointed manager Rafael Benitez is confident that star defender Sergio Ramos will stay put at the club this summer.

  • The Spain international has been heavily associated with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Manchester United keen on landing his services.

However, Benitez has insisted that he is confident of the Ramos' stay, following successful talks between the player and club president Florentino Perez regarding a contract extension.

Ramos was made the club's permanent captain following the departure of legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas to Porto.
