Palmeiras youngster Joao Pedro played alongside United youngster Andreas Pereira for Brazil during the Under-20 World Cup held in New Zealand this summer.

Fox Sports claims that the Red Devils scouts were impressed by Pedro\'s showing during the showpiece, and the club have now lodged an initial £2.8m bid for the talented full-back.

United have already brought in the likes of Sergio Romero, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay this summer.
