Arsenal's hierarchy have offered manager Arsene Wenger with the financial package to move for Real Madrid star Karim Benzema this summer.
The France international has been tipped to join the North London giants, in spite of his agent claiming that the player would stay put at the Bernabeu beyond the summer.
A report from The Mail claims that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been given the go ahead to make a club-record move for Benzema.
It is added that the club are willing to offer the talented frontman with weekly wages of over £150,000-per-week.
Wenger has recently insisted that he could resist a move for the 27-year-old, as he doesn't feel the player would enhance their chances of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
