Manchester United have joined their league rivals in the pursuit of one of the finest young defenders in the Premier League.
Chelsea have already had two bids knocked back for Everton defender John Stones, and a third offer looks unlikely with the Toffees reluctant to offload their star asset.
However, ESPN cites that United boss Louis van Gaal is eager to land the 22-year-old defender, and is ready to offer cash plus Jonny Evans to seal the deal.
Stones joined the Toffees from Barnsley for just £3m in 2013.
