Striker Jermain Defoe wants to quit Sunderland in favour of a move to a Premier League team in the south of England. Defoe is being tracked by Bournemouth and by Norwich City.
Defoe has had a mixed start to his career for the Black Cats since making a move back from Major League Soccer and is now said to be pursuing a move to a southern English club.
Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe is known to be a fan of Defoe and is hoping the experienced striker can educate Calum Wilson to become one of England's most feared strikers.
