Everton are planning a summer bid for Swansea City captain Ashley Williams, according to reports.

The Welsh international has played a huge role in the club's meteoric rise from League One to the Premier League in recent years.

Williams has iterated that he remains committed with the Welsh outfit, as they seek to break into the European qualification spots this season.

However, The Star cites that the Toffees could make a late swoop for the talented defender, should they lose John Stones to Chelsea in the coming days.

The 30-year-old joined the Swans from Stockport County in 2008.
