However, reports in France now cite that the Blues are ready to make a &pound35m bid to prise away the talented marksman from the Ligue 1 outfit before the transfer deadline.

It is added that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has given Jose Mourinho the green light to add at least three recruits to his squad before the transfer window comes to a close.
