Arsenal had reportedly made a formal enquiry for Bayern Munich forwards Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller.
The Gunners have been tipped to add a few recruits in the attack front as they aim to challenge for the title this season.
According to The Mail, the Gunners had asked Bayern on whether they would be willing to sell Lewandowski and Muller in the transfer window.
However, the Bavarian rejected the approach insisting that the star duo would remain at the Allianz Arena for the ongoing campaign.
Arsenal have also been associated with a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani.
