Chelsea are expected to make a fourth and final offer for Everton defender John Stones.

The Blues have been in constant contact with Everton over a summer deal for Stones, in spite of the Toffees claiming that the player is not for sale.

However, The Express claims that Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign the central defender, and is ready to tempt the Toffees with an improved &pound40m offer, which will be a record bid for a defender in the Premier League.

Mangala currently holds the British record for a defender, with City having paid &pound32m to acquire his services from Porto last summer.
