Juventus had made a fresh bid for German starlet Julian Draxler, The Star reports.

The Italian giants have been linked with the Schalke midfielder all summer, but a deal has yet to be put in place for his transfer.

The Old Lady had earlier failed with a &pound14m bid for the World Cup winner, but The Star now cites that the Turin side have launched an improved &pound17m to tempt Schalke into the player's sale.

Schalke 04 currently value Draxler at around &pound20m.
