Chelsea are on the cusp of a deal for Italian goalkeeper Marco Amelia. The 33-year-old will arrive from Perugia for a nominal fee.
With an injury to top choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and the unimpressive start at Chelsea for Asmir Begovic, Jose Mourinho has opted to bring in some goalkeeping cover in Amelia.
Amelia has spent all of his career playing in Italy and has enjoyed spells at Livorno, Lecce, Palermo, Genoa, AC Milan and recently Perugia. The keeper was also a part of the World Cup squad in 2006.
