Amelia to undergo Chelsea medical

Former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia will reportedly undergo a medical at Chelsea ahead of a short-term move to the club.

The 33-year-old was released from the Rossoneri last year, and has since then been on the search for a new club.

Amelia has been on trial with the Premier League champions over the past week with the Blues still on search for a suitable back-up to Asmir Begovic following a long-term knee injury to Thibaut Courtois.

According to Gianluca di Marzio, the experienced goalkeeper will link up with the Blues on a one-year deal as Jose Mourinho seeks to provide rest to Begovic in the cup games.

Chelsea have had a dismal start to their league campaign and currently find themselves in 15th place with just eight points.
