Newcastle United will reportedly step up their pursuit for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend.
The England international was dropped out of Spurs' Europa League win over Anderlecht following a row with coach Nathan Gardiner.
According to The Mirror, the Tynesiders will look to beat the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland in the chase for the talented attacker.
It is added that the 24-year-old could be allowed to move on a temporary spell with an obligation for a permanent switch further down the line.
Townsend has been loaned out to as many as nine clubs during his fluttering career.
