Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is understood to have approached Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez over a potential move to Old Trafford, Spanish source Don Balon reports.
The Chilean international has been in top form for the Gunners ever since his switch from Barcelona in 2014.
Don Balon cites that the Dutchman has already contacted the versatile attacker in a desperate attempt to prise him away from the Emirates.
However, the Gunners are unlikely to consider any kind of offer for their star man given they are in a good financial position following the repayment of debts for their stadium.
Sanchez has already scored 10 goals for club and country this season.
