Wales international Gareth Bale is reportedly considering a move to Old Trafford, having failed to settle into life at Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old became football's most expensive buy when he joined the Bernabeu giants from Tottenham Hotspur for £85m in 2013.
However, the Red Devils have been constantly associated with the talented playmaker, who rebuffed speculation over a potential exit last summer.
According to ESPN, the talented footballer is exploring a possible return to England as he has not fully adapted to life in the Spanish capital.
It is added that United have dropped their interest in Cristiano Ronaldo with Bale earmarked as their number one target.
Bale scored 55 goals in 203 games for Spurs between 2007 and 2013.
