Arsenal have made another approach for Portuguese defensive midfielder William Carvalho. With a squad full of injured midfielders, Arsene Wenger is to move swiftly to snap up defensive cover in January.

The Gunners have lost Francis Coquelin to injury in the past two weeks and the Frenchman will be out of action for at least three months. The Emirates side will now make an approach for young midfielder Carvalho, considered one of Europe's best youngsters. Arsenal will have to pay approximately 21 million euros to sign the player.
