Arsenal will reportedly renew their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho due to ongoing recent injury crisis.
The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was expected to have a quiet winter transfer window with most of the club's players in good form and fitness.
However, long-term injuries to Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla has left a huge void in centre-midfield and this is likely to affect their league ambitions in the second half of the campaign.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are set to offer Carvalho with a dream move to the Emirates in the New Year.
In addition to this, the club are ready to match Sporting's asking price of around £25m for the midfield enforcer.
Carvalho has recently recovered from a stress fracture to take part in his side's league campaign.
