Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny is having a medical with Arsenal, former national team assistant Dia El Sayed claims.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates with reports claiming that the player has agreed on personal terms over a &pound5m transfer.

According to a tweet from El Sayed, the Basel midfielder is in the English capital undergoing a medical with the North London outfit.

It is also known that the talented enforcer could join Arsene Wenger's side as soon as the transfer window reopens next month.

Elneny has netted four goals in 21 games for the Swiss giants this season.
