Debuchy considering Gunners future

Arsene Wenger hints at Mathieu Debuchy departure

30 December 2015 - 17:26

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that Mathieu Debuchy could seek a fresh challenge in the New Year.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The 30-year-old right-back has made just two league starts this season, having fallen below Hector Bellerin in the pecking order.

Debuchy is understood to be desperate to earn a spot in the France national side for Euro 2016, and this is likely to tempt him to seek pastures new next month.

Wenger has now hinted that his fellow countrymate may be allowed to leave the Emirates in January.

"It's not impossible," he told reporters."I'm happy if he stays but we'll see."

Debuchy has three-and-a-half years left on his current deal at Arsenal.
