The 28-year-old has been linked with a summer exit from the Blues, but he opted to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Since then, he has been in and out of the first-team thus leading to suggestions that he may seek a fresh challenge away from West London.

According to The Mail, Blues owner Roman Abramovich would be willing to cash in on the midfield enforcer in order to recoup funds for late buys this month.

Chelsea visit London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
