Manchester United target Saul Niguez has turned down a contract extension at Atletico Madrid, sources reveal.
The 21-year-old had been strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford last month, but the Basque side were not keen on his sale.
Spanish outlet AS now claims that Atleti had offered a new deal to the young centre-back in a bid to end speculation over his future.
However, the player's father is said to have knocked back the offer as he expects the club to come up with an improved package.
Niguez's existing deal is due to expire in the summer of 2020.
