Coleman quits Real Sociedad

Coleman quits Real Sociedad

16 January 2008 - 21:15

Chris Coleman has ended his six-month reign in Spain as he quit as coach of Real Sociedad today. Coleman has been linked with several jobs in England, and resigned after revealing disappointment with the arrival of a new chairman.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • "Things have changed with the arrival of Badiola because there are now two different ways of seeing the club and of working,” Coleman said. “We are leaving our posts with great sadness as this is a fantastic club.”

The Welsh coach’s assistant, Steve Kean, has also resigned. Coleman said he wouldn’t claim payment for the remaining 30 months of his contract.

“The club needn’t worry about this. Money wasn’t why we signed for Real. If that was true, we could have earned more in England."
