West Ham United are reported to be weighing up a shock approach for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. The England international has struggled to prove his worth at the Emirates mainly due to his ongoing injury troubles.

The Hammers have been linked with a wholesale of players in recent months, and according to Brentwood Gazette, Wilshere is the latest to be associated with a move to the East London outfit.

It is added that Slaven Bilic's side would be willing to pay as much as &pound20m to bring the injury-prone midfielder to their new Olympic Stadium next season.

Wilshere is expected to return to the first-team fold in the coming weeks following a year-long layoff with an ankle injury.

The 24-year-old remains in Roy Hodgson's plans for Euro 2016 despite severe lack in match fitness.
