England international Fraser Forster look set to be rewarded with a new contract following his brilliant showing in the Premier League this season.
The 28-year-old linked up with the Saints from Scottish champions Celtic last season, and many were unsure how he would adapt to the English league.
However, he came out with flying colors in his first season with a knee injury only hampering his progress during the second half of the campaign.
Forster has since then recovered from his long-term injury this term and has kept a total of six cleans in the English top flight.
TalkSPORT reveals that the Saints have began negotiations over a new deal with the stopper amid speculated interest from Chelsea.
Chelsea are believed to have earmarked Forster as a potential replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who has hinted his desire to join a Champions League club.
