  • The 23-year-old had been the subject of interest from the Gunners last winter, but Monchengladbach were not keen on losing their player midway through the league campaign.

Arsene Wenger's side are now known to have made initial contact with the Bundesliga outfit ahead of a summer bid for the player's services, The Mirror claims.

Manchester City are also looking into a deal for the Swiss playmaker.

Monchengladbach currently value Xhaka at around £35m.
