Reds, Gunners interested in Guerreiro

Liverpool, Arsenal battle for Raphael Guerreiro

22 April 2016 - 07:35

Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool will reportedly go head-to-head in the pursuit of highly-rated Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The 22-year-old had been on the radar of the Reds during the winter period, but a deal failed to materialise.

French source L'Equipe claims that the player is likely to seek a fresh challenge away from Lorient after his representatives met up with several English clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Like Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not content with his back-up options for the left-back role.

Guerreiro has the ability to play at either left-back or on the left side of midfield.
