Manchester City are ready to trigger the buy-out clause clause of Athletic Bilbao star Aymeric Laporte after Pep Guardiola requested the signing.
The Spaniard will replace Manuel Pellegrini as the next City boss during the off-season.
Laporte has been on the radar of the Citizens for almost a year, and according to EiTB, the Mancunian giants have informed the Basque outfit of their desire to land the young centre-back.
It is added that Pep has had a major role to play after he earmarked the 21-year-old as his top priority for the summer transfer window.
The French defender currently has a £39.2m buy-out clause in his existing contract.
