Roma to revive Witsel interest

AS Roma are reported to be weighing up a fresh bid for Zenit St.Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel. The Belgian has stated his desire to leave the Russian giants at the end of the season.

The Giallorossi are expected to move for midfield reinforcements in the summer with star duo Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan tipped to seek fresh pastures elsewhere.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Capital outfit will renew their pursuit for Witsel after they failed to get a deal done for his services in January.

However, there could be stiff competition with fellow rivals AC Milan and Juventus also keen on the player's signature.

Witsel has notched 34 appearances in all competitions for Zenit this term.
