Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is keen on a move to Liverpool despite their failure to qualify for Europe. The Argentina international has caught the eye of the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea amid claims that he could leave Naples over the summer.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Higuain, 28, has been a constant performer for his side since his move from Real Madrid in 2013, but the lack of trophies could lure him to a bigger club.

According to The Mirror, the player has set his sights on joining Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool as he believes they have all the ingredients to offer a strong challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Nevertheless, the Reds would have to be prepared to match Napoli's asking price which is likely to be above £50m.

Higuain had a stellar showing in Serie A as he broke the goal-scoring record for a single season. (36 goals in just 35 outings).
