Man Utd offer Matteo Darmian in part-exchange deal for Paul Pogba

11 June 2016 - 07:12

Manchester United have reportedly offered defender Matteo Darmian as makeweight in a deal to bring Paul Pogba to Old Trafford this summer. The Red Devils are eager to re-sign their former graduate as they seek to lodge a strong challenge for the league title next season.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Old Lady are open to the sale of the French midfielder over the summer provided any club manage to match a record fee of €100m.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils have stepped up their interest for the 23-year-old after they placed Darmian as part of a transfer deal that could see Pogba make a return to Manchester.

Max Allegri's side are currently on the search for a new right-back and the availability of Darmian may well tempt them to reduce the asking price of their star asset.

Pogba featured for Les Bleus as they beat Romania by a 2-1 scoreline in the Euro 2016 opener yesterday.
