Man Utd to keep hold of Phil Jones

Jones offered chance to impress under Mourinho

Man Utd to keep hold of Phil Jones

18 June 2016 - 05:47

Manchester United are unlikely to offload defender Phil Jones over the summer. The England international has had a series of unknown injuries which have brought a standstill to his blossoming career.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Recent speculation suggested that the 24-year-old could find himself out of Old Trafford with new boss Jose Mourinho looking to rebuild his backline ahead of a tough league campaign next term.

However, a report from The Mirror says the 'Special One' is willing to offer the player the chance to impress as he sees in the mould of Chelsea great John Terry.

Jones at centre-back could well see the summer exit of Daley Blind, who is currently deemed surplus to requirements.
