Sunderland have made an approach for former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian international largely misfired in his debut season with AS Roma.
The 30-year-old joined the Giallorossi from City on an initial loan last summer before the move was made permanent for £14m.
GianlucadiMarzio says the Black Cats had tabled a £8m offer for the striker after manager Sam Allardyce stated his intentions to bolster his forward ranks ahead of next season.
However, the bid was swiftly rebuffed by the Capital outfit who value their player in excess of £12m.
Dzeko netted 10 goals in 39 games for the Serie A side last term.
