Clarets to pursue Adam deal

Burnley ready move for Charlie Adam

22 June 2016 - 13:23

Premier League newcomers Burnley are looking into a cut-price deal for Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam. The 30-year-old is weighing up his options after he fell out-of-favour under Mark Hughes last season.

  • Adam has a year left on his existing deal at the Britannia Stadium, and signs are he could leave the Potters in the upcoming transfer window.

According to The Star, the Clarets are hoping to land the Scotland international for a £1.5m fee as they seek to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new campaign.

Sean Dyche's side largely struggled during their previous stint in the top flight, and the arrival of Adam could well add the much-needed zest to their game.

Adam made just 12 league starts for the Potters during the 2015/16 league campaign.
