Liverpool are close to finalizing an agreement to sign Southampton winger Sadio Mane. The Senegalese international has been tipped to leave St.Mary's following yet another impressive season in the top flight.

Mane played a key role for the Saints last term as they earned their best-ever finish to a Premier League campaign - sixth with 63 points.

According to The Sun, the Reds are heading the queue for Mane after Manchester United dropped their interest in the player's services.

Jurgen Klopp's side will offer a fee in the region of &pound25m for the attacker despite the Saints initially holding out for a &pound40m sum.

The 24-year-old netted 15 goals in 43 games for the Saints during the 2015/16 campaign.
